One used truck and a strong back.
Chris Dempsey started Load Off in 2019 after helping his grandmother clear out her house and realizing nobody in Spartanburg made it easy.
That first cleanout took Chris three weekends, a borrowed trailer, and four trips to the dump. Somewhere around trip three he thought: people would pay real money to never do this.
He bought a used box truck that fall. The first year was Chris, his cousin, and a phone number on a magnetic door sign. The bet was simple: show up when you say, price by what the truck holds so nobody feels hustled, and donate everything you can instead of dumping it.
Six years later there are two trucks, four crew members, and 112 five-star reviews. The donation habit stuck too: if your stuff has life left, it goes to Spartanburg charities first and the landfill last, and you get the receipt for your taxes.

The price is the price
Confirmed at the door before we start. If the pile turns out smaller than the photo, the price drops. It never climbs.

Donate first
Usable furniture and appliances go to local charities before anything sees a landfill. Photo and receipt included.

Leave it cleaner
Every job ends with a broom. If we moved it out of a room, that room gets swept before we roll out.
